Earth's History & Evolution Classwork
Jan 23-26, 2017
As students wrapped up the work with Evolution, they had to complete a final summarizing task on Canvas. They had to answer the following and they could use any resources that we completed and worked on in class.
**You will need to send me a written response to the questions below. The minimum length of this assignment should be 3 paragraphs but a very thorough response may be more like 5 paragraphs. I want you to type it in google docs and then link that to canvas in order to submit your assignment. Be thorough. Use the resources that you have been given.

1A, 4A finished the packet called Evidence of Evolution; As students finished, they started to read the CLOSE READ.
3A, 1B, 3B, 4B finished the CLOSE READ of two articles on Evolution. They were given a partner and a set of QUESTIONS to answer together. We reviewed the answers to the questions. Students then began working on the packet Evidence of Evolution.

A-day classes finished and turned in the Adaptation Lab. B-day classes had to turn in the lab first thing because they had to finish for homework.

For A-day students...we have an early release so we only have about 45 min of class time. For all classes that didn't finish the note, we finised the notes. If you were absent, look below and click on the link to the notes. After the notes, the students participated in an Adaptation Lab. HERE is a copy of the lab. Today students took their test on the Earth's History Unit. As students were taking the test, I checked the flashcards and study guide for those students who turned it in. Once all students were done, we began taking notes on Evolution. HERE is a copy of the notes presentation so that the students can go back and reference it at any time.

Today was a wrap-up day. The students had time to complete any remaining menu boxes. If they were finished with that, they could work on the flashcards which can be found at the bottom of the menu. If they finished the flashcards, they could be working on the STUDY GUIDE. The test will be the next time I see them.

We finished the notes from Thursday. We then went over the full menu of classwork. Finally, we took time to check the fossils work and make sure that the boxes on the menu stamped off. If you are in need of the notes, the entire notes presentation is attached to the dinner menu.

Remember that I am out today. You will need to work on the fossils portion of the menu. Click HERE. The flashards for the unit are at the end of the menu as well as found in the homework section. You don't have to complete all of the flashcards; work on 3-4 at a time. I will handout the Earth's history menu on Wed and I will stamp off the work you completed.

The warm-up began with the students looking at THIS website. They had to pick a fossil and say why they thought it was so amazing. After the warm-up, we finished the Earth's History Notes. With the remaining time, the students began to work on their flashcards. For the flashcards, they have the word, the definition and a picture in color...NO QUIZLETS or other technology things that can be used for cards. The word list can be found under the homework tab.

Mrs. Gebhardt is out. Read through the chapter in the yellow book on Earth's History (Unit A) and answer the couple questions at the end of each section. Students should be ready for their energy quiz on Thursday.
